I am the proud owner of this Brownie sweatshirt! I’m so LUCKY. HA HA. Idae, 10,000 won.
One of my fourth grade students has a furry Brownie hair barrette and I couldn’t stop petting it and telling her how cute it was. If I saw one, I would buy it. I will be celebrating my 25th birthday next week. Something is wrong with me.

Went to a stationery store today just to buy a marker and of course ended up bringing home about ten things. I LOVE these cards!

This cute bear was full of cinnamon!
I checked out Cafe Raintree yesterday for brunch. There are several brunch spots in Idae but no one I know has ever found one that is really, really good. I guess Egg and Spoon Race is probably the best, but it’s definitely nowhere near as good as real western-style brunch food. Cafe Raintree has a really interesting and cozy interior with lots of curtains and pillows and photo albums and framed art from the owner’s travels around the world (someone had a good time in India!) but the food… well, I hope you like pancakes, because the cafe no longer offers sandwiches so the only food you can order is three varieties of pancakes! We skipped the food and just got coffee instead. Had to get energized for a long day of shopping.
Cafe Raintree is on the small street parallel to the main street on your right side if you’re walking towards the university from the subway station. Behind Starbucks. I couldn’t find English directions to it online and found it on Naver Maps so there, now there are some directions!

Also amazing: this 만원 bag! 10,000 won! There are cheap bag stores everywhere in Seoul and that is one thing I will miss a lot about living in Korea when I leave.

Cute purchases from Ewha/Idae yesterday! Pink alpaca phone charm and fabric flower earrings. Cost: 2,000!
Also bought two dresses, a dress that is so short and tight it has since been relegated to nightgown status, a summery work blouse, sheer purple flowery lace socks, and a birthday present for my sister. Success!

kiwisoju:

I am 99% positive I ate here before!!!! Was this in Hongdae~?

No, not in Hongdae. At least, not this one. This restaurant is called Solemio and I think it’s a chain, so it’s likely there is one in Hongdae. Then again, a large percentage of Korean pasta restaurants (Sorrento comes to mind) and room cafes look exactly like this.
I ended up taking a ton of pictures because the decor was so pretty. I really felt like I was eating inside a garden. Unfortunately, the food was medicore, as I expected it to be.

Oh my gosh, seriously, next time I go to Japan, which will hopefully be very soon, I am going to get one of these somehow! Even if I have to spend $100 at an arcade.

Also bought a new phone case today. Cute! This was the first time I’d ever seen a case like this. It’s made by Haki Korea. I’m pretty sure they just hot glue gunned some plastic flowers onto a pre-existing case; oh well, still cute.

This is exactly how I feel right now! I need to watch some more Community and cheer myself up. Lately, I don’t have the attention span to sit through a whole movie, so television it is. The most pleasurable opiate of the masses. Sometimes you just need to turn off your brain and laugh.
